Management Consultant with Transformation Experience
JOB DESCRIPTION

Expressworks is recruiting Management Consultants with 7-15+ years of business consulting and experience in change and transformation.

We support our clients from the design to the details of change to enable sustainable business outcomes. We flex to be as comprehensive or as targeted as a client needs – from a blueprint for enterprise-wide transformation to organization-specific process improvement.

You are expected to lead transformation efforts working with both clients and Expressworks consultants in a cohesive, collaborative, and supportive team environment. As lead, you are responsible to see that all aspects of the initiative are considered and responded to appropriately using Expressworks’ change, for the better principles, our cultural norms, and our six performance factors as your guides.    

Our capabilities span across these six performance factors that we believe impact our client’s success and their ability to achieve their goals.

  • More experienced consultants should have expertise in most, if not all, performance factors coupled with a with a deep understanding of how they interrelate to impact business outcomes. Consultants are expected to create fit-for-purpose solutions and potentially lead the transformation efforts that move clients toward their performance and cultural goals.  
  • Consultants with fewer years’ experience should have expertise and full understanding of one or more performance factors and are expected to support change and transformation initiatives.

This position is for an independent contractor who is willing to typically work full time and for a longer-term (six months plus) engagement. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, fields of Psychology (e.g., organizational psychology), Information Systems, or the Social Sciences is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Management Consultant Role Description

Below are representative responsibilities for our six performance factors:

VISION AND STRATEGY

  • Work as a strategic thought partner with leaders and their teams to facilitate clarity and alignment and provide insight and guidance.
  • Help leaders clearly define the future state and business outcomes they desire.
  • Work with leaders to align on strategies, goals, and objectives to achieve their desired outcomes.

EFFECTIVE LEADERS

  • Help sponsors understand their roles in successful change initiatives, including visibly demonstrating their commitment and fostering an environment of engagement, inclusion, and ownership with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Help executives grow and develop to become more effective leaders by coaching, providing feedback, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Function as a sounding board for executives to discuss and explore their leadership challenges and opportunities.

CULTURAL ENGAGEMENT

  • Be attuned to and work effectively in the political and cultural environment.
  • Create and implement a comprehensive engagement strategy that encourages and nurtures a culture of collaboration, creativity, and ownership.
  • Drive the development of communications strategies and plans to ensure the right messages are effectively delivered to the right stakeholder groups in a timely manner to enable a successful transformation.

WORKFORCE CAPABILITY

  • Create an engaging and motivating work environment that builds relationships and trust and provides opportunities for growth and development.
  • Identify capability needs and gaps that might impede successful change. Design and execute strategies, including training and / or talent acquisition, to ensure the right resources are available to achieve the desired business outcomes.

ORGANIZATIONAL / OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE

  • Think strategically and lead a program / project in the right direction: establish well-defined critical path milestones, allocate resources and budget, identify cross-functional interdependencies, and prioritize risks / issues with mitigation strategies.
  • Help organizations with business process re-engineering: identify and implement effective processes to streamline operations and improve performance.
  • Identify key organizational performance metrics and systems to track progress and measure success.
  • Create an organizational design or operating model that defines a framework for how an organization's processes, resources, and people work together efficiently and effectively to successfully achieve the organization's goals.

DATA AND TECHNOLOGY

  • Collect and analyze data accurately and efficiently. Provide leaders with valuable insights for areas of improvement: performance tracking, decision making, and success measurement.
  • Provide recommendations on how technology can enable successful transformation.

We support our clients from the design to the details of change to enable sustainable business outcomes. We flex to be as comprehensive or as targeted as a client needs – from a blueprint for enterprise-wide transformation to organization-specific process improvement.

As an Organizational Change Consultant, you are expected to help clients create value through change and transformation to meet performance goals. You will work (virtually, on-site, or both) with a project team that may include other Expressworks consultants, non-Expressworks consultants, and / or client representatives. You may be leading a work stream, supporting a team lead, or working as an individual to create and execute the approved, fit-for-purpose change plan. The change plan should be guided by Expressworks’ change, for the better principles, our cultural norms and change approach, and our six performance factors.      

This position is for an independent contractor who is willing to typically work full time and for a longer-term (six months plus) engagement.

Organizational Change Consultant Role Description:

Change Communication Consultant

Expressworks is recruiting Change Communication Consultants with 7–10+ years’ experience and expertise in communicating to client stakeholders.

We support our clients from the design to the details of change to enable sustainable business outcomes. We flex to be as comprehensive or as targeted as a client needs – from a blueprint for enterprise-wide transformation to organization-specific process improvement.

Your role as a Change Communications lead is to strategize, plan, create and deliver clear, compelling communications. Your communications should inform, educate, and motivate the stakeholders who are essential to a project’s success. Your communications should also be guided by Expressworks’ change, for the better principles, our cultural norms, and our six performance factors. You will work (virtually, on-site, or both) with a project team that may include other Expressworks consultants, non-Expressworks consultants, and / or client representatives.

Effective project communication tells a story, both verbally and visually, that speaks to those people most impacted by the change.

  • The story should paint a clear picture of the leaders’ vision so that stakeholders can see the future state and want to be a part of it.
  • In addition, communication should help stakeholders understand that they may need to change the way they work if they want to be successful and play a productive role in the future.

Change Communication Consultant Role Description
  • Function as a thought partner to assess the challenge, recommend actions, and structure the approach and timing.
  • Work in close partnership with multiple stakeholders, aligned though multiple business units, to develop and execute a communications strategy for the end user community and related business owners.
  • Facilitate stakeholder analysis to determine appropriate communication and engagement methods.
  • Drive the development of communications plans that include coaching senior business executives in effective communication that may include broad international stakeholder groups.
  • Assist team members with customizing communications for their audience-specific needs at all levels of the organization.
  • Create and deliver rich, creative communications solutions, on-time, with clearly articulated messaging and eye-grabbing designs and methods that cut through the clutter and gain influence in your client's organization.
  • Organize thoughts and communicate them well both verbally and in writing.
