The Oil & Gas industry has seen its share of ups and downs. But they aren’t the only sector being challenged and disrupted by global forces. As leaders we would do well to understand the talent pool and create a strategy for leveraging that talent into the future, no matter how the industry might shift or morph.
In the case of oil and gas, if energy companies are to stay in the business of meeting energy demand, the strategy might include more than just buying into the alternative energy business. Where are the people who will run the business in the new normal? You know, the ones that helped make your company what it is today and will keep the values and operating principles alive? Company culture is a tangible asset.
Other industries may also want to take note.
